Decking Construction for Theydon Bois Golf Club Essex

The new decking terrace at Theydon Bois Golf club is now finished and ready for all club members to use.
Set deep in the heart of Epping Forest, Theydon Bois golf club had been toying with the idea to have a decking platform to extend the functional use of the club bar and restaurant. The main question that many members were asking was.”What are the benefits? What’s it going to be used for?”

The main purpose for the deck was to expand the usable space that the Golf Club had and create an outdoor space that was an extension of the club restaurant and lounge. Double doors had been left unusable due to the 1100mm elevation difference between the door threshold and the outside ground level. By having deck at this level and with the patio style doors open in the warmer months the deck would only be a few paces from the existing lounge area.

The golf club has for many years provided its club facilities for the use during club events, private functions and weddings. These revenue generating services are essential for a club to maximise its profits for the year. By providing a contemporary raised decking surrounded with stainless and glass balustrade would only enhance the club and be an attractive benefit to others using these services.

Imagine the 19th, tournament day, summer late afternoon with a glass of something cool to sip sat at a table with your friends overlooking the 18th hole, how many courses have this, not many. You can now be sat with a prime seat instead of stood in the grounds.

With full planning permission for the decking granted and a yes vote from the committee the works began. With a functional design and a good choice of materials. Exterior decking was called in for consultation and materials advice with Millboard Decking being the choice voted for by the panel at the Golf Club.

Glass and stainless balustrade would provide an unrestricted look and allow the eye to take in the splendid views of the golf course through the restaurant window. The balance of the colour of the deck against the backdrop of the clubhouse looks like the deck was supposed to be there.
