There are many different ways to create a decking substructure on a limited elevation roof or balcony terrace.
- Hardwood
- softwood
- HDPE
- Steel frame
How do you support the substructure, we all know it isn’t a good idea to lay this directly onto a flat substrate – so what do you do?
- Rubber joist shoes
- Pedestals
- HDPE supports
- Joist pads (like large polo mints about 6mm x 125mm)
The reason I ask is that many Architects, designers and clients all have “Their” way of doing things, not always correctly.
