dear Paul, invisible screws I guess you mean a clip system?

here some comments why we do not recommend this clip system:

    1)  If the ipe board shrinks, it could shrink right out of the clip, especially if the installer didn’t get the joint snug against the clip. If the board cups due to lack of airflow, it will curl right out of the clip. If the board swells, it will pop the clip and buckle the board

    2) If you have a damaged or miss-behaving board, you will have to do one of two things to fix it. You will have to take all the proceeding boards off, fix that board, then reset all the boards before it again. Or, you will have to cut that misbehaving board out, lay a new one in, then, face screw it into place as per the instructions that comes with the clips. Either way, not the way I want to spend my Sunday nor do I want my deck to end up with face screws in it defeating the whole purpose of hidden fasteners in the first place.

So these are our recomendations for the clip system, furtermore, for installing your decking boards not with visible fixations and also no clip system, we recommend you to use a tool called CAMO system (click on the link for more information and illustration)

Site meetings as I see it should be seen as ‘promotional expenses’, so in principle for your account. Anyhow, it depends on supply and demand, if you are in need and there are many competitors around it will be quite unlikely to chrge for your meetings.

by the way, narrower deck (90 / 120mm wide) is not only more stable, but also cheaper!

there is just no single straight forward answer to this question, you can apply chemicals, you can sand, you can just pressure hose it with water, it all depends on your actual coating and the wood which is underneath.

If you use some chemical , then this may create stains and then when your coating is gone, your decking has now a problem with stains, which are either superficial or profound. Then you can use bleach, but this may degrade your valuable wood. Anyhow, what to do, depends on you, but if your deck is expensive then we recommend a professional deck renovating company. It is really not that simple.

As a hardwood exporter (both decking and flooring) we do receive questions in respect of installing and finishing and for the future maintenance and cleaning, here we have listed the different kind of stains on your deckingand advise on how to remove them and further advise on cleaning in particular with respect to a product called sodium percarbonate which is good for removing from your deck the mold, dirt and dead grayed-out grains

hello, I read that AD is being sent to Israel, the experience we have is sending AD to a DRY environment is a guarantee for problems, although ipe wood is very very stable, it is still wood and so prone to the elements. Therefore, KD decking is the only appropriate product for this dry region otherwise you may expect some % of your boards converting into banana shape, especially the longer lengths.

In order to avoid cracking you should always wax your ends and in order to avoid the greying use a UV filtering coating. See for more on finishing and coating of your hardwood decking by clicking on this weblink

offer and demand, we are a hardwood mill located in the Bolivian Amazon just accros the Brazilian border and NEVER send samples by Fedex on our expense (USD 60/ sample), nowadays we just need to spend this money in order to get the orders (hopefully). This is called the PITCH and depends on how needy you are. The more needy, the more you need to invest

yes you got exactly the biggest disadvantage of this tongue and groove decking. The same is true for camo hidden fastener and the ipe clip extreme (double groove system).
The second issue is the ‘working of the wood’, if it extends, where does it go to? Therefore you should always use regular decking with stainless steel screws and between the boards a spacing of 4 – 5 mm
