Extending a Victorian Property with Shou Sugi Ban
With burning timber I find it reflects the beach, Like the forever flowing waves making their own creations in the sand. I’m still not sure which is my favourite, but I’m certain Charred Cedar is one of my choice finishes. You can’t replicate this texture with any method other than burning. The movement of the grain is a true reflection of the organic nature of the timber, making this cladding, natures artwork at its finest.
Through years of research we are able to display this beautiful timber inside and out. The designer can create a feature wall inside or wrap a house with this unique and long lasting cladding.
Although I didn’t design this project, it looks well, the stark modern addition to what has been the standard Victorian North London pad for the last 100 years or more. Its not really that contemporary, if it was Black would certainly be the new White….
