Millboard decking installation in Gerrards Cross
Castle Landscapes Millboard decking installation in Gerrards Cross
A decking terrace with clever thinking and a smooth layout, a sensible solution for the design brief and construction. Millboard enhanced grain seems to be winning the hearts of the client for many gardens. Stylish wood replica decking with very little maintenance in a light grey finish has added a contemporary statement to this space.
The C24 structurally graded and also treated timber has been laid in a framework in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
“It is vital to correctly structure your decking. Not only to support the weight of its intended use but to uphold the manufacturers warranty. We are professional millboard installers and it remains essential that the installation guidelines are followed.”
The joist centres are in a 400mm centre arrangement and mechanically fixed with TimberLoc joist screws by OSC. The frame then supported by posts concreted into the ground with intermediate pedestals for additional support. The decking fixed into place with the recommended stainless screws; this means the terrace is designed well and built to last.
“The design shows several changes in decking layout direction. The client loved the layout and added interest from our guys installing it, love that”.
Fire pits, Corten steel water features and planting plans
The other landscape attributes, supplied by the client. Not always preferred in a landscaping scheme as that what the landscaper is for and how he makes his profit. Nevertheless, the Corten steel water feature look beautiful in contrast to the grey of the decking. Furthermore, custom made fencing panels, occasional pots for planting and feature wall. All professionally installed.
The central Fire Pit feature was a bespoke build in type from Firepits.co.uk; which had the gas supplied from the house mains. This is normal practice so long as a GAS SAFE engineer does the installation, testing and commissioning… like we did. Further, The style of the firepit was with Basalt coping stones and with porcelain and stainless side detail.
Stephen Ryan MSGD designed the planting scheme. Planted as per the scheme pleached photinia, ilex bonsai, Ilex creanata hedging, under planted with ophiopogon Nigrescens black grasses
