Owatrol AP2 used at its best!
We recently worked with a architect who had a client that wanted to achieve the ‘weathered grey’ appearance from the outset. The timber used was oak and the client wanted to have as little maintenance as possible.
We specified Owatrol AP2 which offers the weathered grey appearance and because it is produced with Owatrol Oil technology, it will prevent movement in the timber from transformation of moisture. The other point to consider was as the timber being used was oak, there is potential for the inherent tannins to seep out of the surface and contaminate the it with unsightly black & brown stains.
To avoid this the client initially applied ‘Stoptan’ which pretty much states what it is designed to do in the name!

Just a single coat of Stoptan is required and then once dried, the client was able to apply two coats of AP2.
