Arbor Forest Products announces winners of fifth anniversary Arbordeck Awards
Arbor Forest Products has announced the winners of the 2022 Arbordeck Awards. This includes the results of the first ever public vote in celebration of the awards’ fifth anniversary.
Kent-based Browns Landscaping and Decking scooped the top Deck of the Year prize. The prize includes a money-can’t-buy trip for two to Washington, D.C. It is complete with a visit to the inspirational Trex University in Virginia. Browns Landscaping and Decking’s Sole Street deck also came top in the Top Spec Trex Deck category. It was awarded silver in the Best Large Trex Deck category, both of which were voted for by the public.
Trex decking awards decided by the public
The striking deck showcases the very best of Trex, featuring composite decking boards in the classic combination of popular shades Island Mist and Calm Water. The deck uses several fixings systems including the Trex® Hideaway Secret Fixing System, Trex Pro Plug® Composite Deck Screw. The joists were covered with Trex Protect Tape. Utilising the Trex CustomCurve™ oven, the unique deck also features a curved pathway and centrepiece circle with an inlay design. The terrace is completed with decking lights for both style and safety.

Trex composite decking winners
Winners of the remaining public vote categories include Celtic Decks, Celtic Carpentry Ltd, Simon Thomas Deck & Design, Elite Composite Designs and Thompsons Timberworks. Three categories – including the coveted Deck of the Year – were still chosen by the judging panel comprising three industry experts, with Paul Smythe of Gower Composite Decking & Carpentry and Michael McCloy of Elite Composite Designs named as Best Trex Newcomer and Trex Brand Champion of the Year respectively.
The Trex decking annual awards are fiercely contested with some exceptional projects.
To mark the event’s fifth anniversary, the 2022 Arbordeck Awards were attended by two Trex US representatives, Frank Deiuliis and Brad Felix, for the first time.
