Automatic garden watering in Beaconsfield
When creating a fully automatic garden watering system, it’s important that you use the services of a professional irrigation company. Even more so if your watering system is to be installed in and around a decking platform.
Top garden water irrigation tips
The Decking Network asked Alex from Blue Skies Water Systems a few questions about what’s hot and what’s not in the world of garden irrigation. Alex has more than 25 years’ experience in Garden watering systems. From the simple to the multi-zone systems which are fully automated that you can monitor on your phone. He’s a nice chap too.
What do you recon to DIY watering systems Alex
They are ok for your small projects, green houses and the like. All you need a is a simple kit, plug it in and off you go. Don’t over complicate the system with a Mission central computer system as this would over complicate your system. We supply this nationally in their thousands… (Can I say that 🙂 ?) (Editor… of course)
What the latest method of watering a garden automatically
I’d start with a water tank. This has to be the most efficient method. You can harvest water from your guttering and this is stored until you need to water your garden. We recently installed an automatic garden watering in Beaconsfield, infact we do this most weeks in multiple locations. It saves our natural resources and used the free water from our roofs and outs it where its needed… in your garden.
How does the water get from the Tank to your garden, there no water pressure?
That’s a simple one, an appropriately sized pump creates an equal pressure for the entire system. Let’s assume you had multiple zones that needed irrigating and each zone was 100 metres long. Most household natural water pressure isn’t powerful enough to do this… One system certainly but not say.. six! Or more. With regard to selecting the right pump, we can calculate this as part of our installation.
Tell me one important tip about water systems in and around a decking platform.
OK, so you’ve heard the water pipes clanking in an old house? Well this is caused by loose pipes and as the water is switched on and off the pressure increases and decreases rapidly which causes movement in the pipes. If you assume the same would happen under your deck, then this is a bad thing. We certainly don’t want pipes moving, so we advise to correctly clip these in place with clips every 300mm. This stops the pipes from moving and prevents any joist from failing.
